What drives every project at HK Technologies is a genuine curiosity about why something isn't working, and a commitment to figuring out what will. The projects below represent some of the challenges our clients brought to us, and how we worked through them together.

Ruin Air is an aftermarket air suspension management system for cars. Air suspension replaces traditional coil springs with air bags, allowing the driver to electronically raise or lower their vehicle's ride height on demand, a popular modification in the custom and stance car community. The system is built around a portable touchscreen remote with wireless charging, and planned software updates include Xbox controller support and a theme system. It's positioned as one of the least expensive air management systems on the market without sacrificing quality, and is built with right-to-repair at the forefront.
Ruin Air needed a hardware partner who could do it all. We designed the electronics, wrote the firmware, built the controller interface, and got the system production-ready, helping Ruin deliver a feature-rich air management system at a price point the car community had never seen before.
Components:
• Custom schematic and PCB design

ClimaFi is a complete residential HVAC system built around hydronic (water-based) distribution, cold climate heat pumps with built-in heat recovery, and Sunamp thermal battery storage. Unlike traditional HVAC companies that sell individual components, ClimaFi engineers the entire system from the ground up, every component is selected and sized to work together as one integrated unit. The result is a system designed to last 40+ years, perform in any weather, and improve over time through software updates.
ClimaFi set out to build a smarter, more durable residential HVAC system, and the control system is what makes it smart. HK Technologies designed and developed the ClimaFi smart controller: the embedded hardware and firmware that manages heat pump operation, coordinates thermal battery storage, handles demand response, and enables over-the-air updates. It's the kind of work that's invisible when it's done right, and everything when it isn't. ClimaFi continues to be one of our most proud clients in the growing HVAC industry.
Components:
• Custom schematic and PCB design
• Full-stack multi-platform app development
• Robust update system with controlled releases
• Full database management and backend

The Ceremonial Bugle is a dignified method of playing Taps at a military funeral when a live bugler is not available. It was developed as an alternative to playing a recorded version of Taps on a CD or cassette player, providing a solemn visual image of a bugler actually playing.
The Ceremonial Bugle is a product with real weight behind it — used at military funerals across North America to honour veterans when a live bugler isn't available. HK Technologies contributed to the electronic insert at the heart of the system, designing the PCB, embedded firmware, and audio playback engine that makes a recorded Taps sound like it's coming from a real horn. It's a small device with a big responsibility, and we treated it that way.
Components:
• Custom schematic and PCB design
• Analog based design with on board amplifier
• High quality sound output
• Power latching circuit for extended battery life
